The clear night skies above Mallanganee have very little light pollution and provide a spectacular view of the Milky Way.
And not only our galaxy but the irregular dwarf galaxies of the Large & Small Megallanic Clouds are often clearly visible too.
Therefore, Mallanganee is an excellent place from which to observe the heavens.
Mallanganee Stargazers meet on the oval on the fourth Wednesday night of the month at 8.30pm for one hour.
A 100mm aperture Newtonian telescope with a range of lenses and filters is available.
Children are most welcome to view used to observe astronomical features as our Moon, the Planets, Planetary Nebulae and Dwarf Galaxies.
